The name Wicken Tree Studio came about because my studio, at the bottom of my garden, happens to be under a Rowan Tree. It seemed an appropriate name to use, but then I discovered that one of the many ancient names for a Rowan was the Wicken Tree and that it had played a large part in fairy legends and ancient folklore. It seemed very fitting for my fairy related sculptures... and Wicken Tree Studio was born.
On your journey through my website you will find some of these legends and folklore. Whether any of it is true we can only guess...
